It is a Home on the 'Range Deluxe 6 cylinder column auto with bench seat.

: The photos were taken yesterday and were the first time the car has been driven in nearly 20 years. The first 2 shots are of the car leaving Barrie Nelson's workshop in Oakford, Barrie had done a substantial amount of rust repairs on the car.

: The next photo shows the car being driven to Andrew's ( my cousin ) house where Andrew will get the car ready for registration. Despite the fact the car hasn't been driven for so long Andrew felt the car actually drove quite well, and it easily sat on 100km/h.

: I bought the car earlier in the year after receiving a call from the owner who had seen my name in a newspaper. It had sat in storage since 1992 in a warehouse in Maddington, only about 5 minutes from my house.

: An interesting point about this car is that I used to see it everyday on my way to work back in 1990. The original owner was a Doctor, and he used to work at Royal Perth Hospital.

: I used to work in the city at the time, and would walk past it on my way from the train station to work on Adelaide Terrace.

: Towards the end of 1990 the doctor traded the P76 in for a new Volvo. A number of people told me about the car being in the used car lot at Norse Volvo in Como so I went with Andrew and had a look.

: The car was in immaculate condition and despite being a 6 cylinder I wanted it. Being only 17 at the time I had to try and get finance, which was a mission in itself.

: I missed out as someone else bought the car while I was messing around with the banks.

: The guy who bought the car was around the same age as myself, and also lived in Armadale which was the same suburb I lived in.

: I saw the car a number of times over the next year or so, and in that time it had detiorated a bit due to being parked in the open.

: I found out where the new owner ( whose name was Wally ) lived and made an offer to buy the car. However Wally really liked the car and wanted to kkep it.

: The car then disappeared and I often wondered over the years what had happened to it, thinking it was probably wrecked long ago.

: Then out of the blue I got the phone call from Wally asking if I wanted to buy it, only 18 years later.

: I hope the car should be on club rego by the time of the BMC/Leyland day in October.
