Western Australia P76 Owners Club - 2012 |

Western Australia Club
30th Aniversary promotional day for the P76
- From James Mentiplay
- The day was a huge success.
- We had 15 cars on display ( a number of members couldn't get time off work or were ill which meant we didn't reach 20) including the White Force 7.
- The response from the public was amazing with the cars constantly being surrounded by people all day and with nothing but positive comments being aired.
- Both Channel 9 and 10 came down and took footage and interviews. The Channel 9 story was for Perth only but the Channel 10 story was taken up by both Melbourne and Perth for the main bulletin at 5.00pm, and went National for the late bulletin at 10.30pm.
- I haven't seen either as yet but have been told it went well. Channel 10 interviewed a number of us and took my Chrystal White Super (ex Nick Kounelis) for a test drive.
- My father also did an interview for Radio 6PR on the morning which prompted quite a few talk back callers as well.
- What amazed me the most apart from the great response from the public and the media was the large amount of ex-P76 owners who popped by for a visit.
- I have about a dozen names and numbers of ex owners who are looking to buy a P76 again. Almost everyone of them owned one in the 70's or 80's and sold the car, regrets it and is now cashed up and wanting a P76 as a toy for the weekend or to play with and restore.
- If we can convert this interest into new owners and members we will not
- look back as a club. I cannot believe the other P76 clubs did not take
- advantage of the 30th Birthday and have a display as well, because this renewed
- interest is not unique to Perth but is occurring across Australia and we should make hay while the sun shines.
