  Tony Brown     15 January 2018·Which one is correct?WW carby gasket. Top left repro from club I think, top right original and bottom installed by carby shop but part of the gasket is missing at pump valve seems by design not cut or blown.Original problem was excess fuel in exhaust when down shifting.Always running rich no matter what I adjusted.Thanks

Stromberg carbs are great.When you say excess fuel, what does that actually mean?Scott WilkieYeah I don't think the missing bit around the squirter plunger well on the lower one matters.It's above the well.All it would do is let air or bypassed fuel back into the top of the bowl.Tony BrownExcess fuel being burnt in exhaust pipe when foots off the gas.Stripped carby last night and the jets and squirters match out in size.Also have an msd ignition which could also be the problemScott Wilkiehave a look at the dizzy, in particular vac advance function.That's primarily what it's for, to control ignition on overrun.
