  Hello Bill,I would strongly suggest you retrofit a vacuum canister to your distributor.It will greatly help in smoothness and mileage. Also, I would only use manifold vacuum and not ported. I cannot think of any performance builders (street or tract) who recommend ported 	vacuum.That may cure your problem but I think another gremlin is at play.That aftermarket intake manifold may have a vacuum leak between it and  your heads. I have experienced that problem on  one of my own installations.Use the old trick of spraying starter fluid around the gasket sealing area  while the engine is idling.If there is a noticeable change in RPM you have found the culprit.Best to you,Darius
